Hello all,

I have just acquired a Beovision 7 and for some reason when connected via HDMI and scart to my SKY box I have no sound from the central speaker and sometimes no picture.

The sound and picture work fine when playing a DVD.

Can anyone help?

Best,

Sam

This helps alot. Type 9314 makes it a BeoVision 7-32 MK1, which means one of the first BV7-32.

Your TV is not hd-ready and it does not feature a true hdmi connector, instead a dvi connector. The scaler module is missing which would make it a MK2. Mk 2 sets are hd-ready and support up to 720p.

The best way to connect the sky box in my opinion is to use a scart cable only.

Do you know how to set up the AV port for this ?

Hi Martin,

I really appreciate all of this!

We have an adapter which lets us use an HDMI cable and no I don't know how to set up the AV port.

All the best,

Sam

Sam, please try a "scart cable only" connection of the sky box first to see if we can get normal picture and sound correctly.

In TV mode you have to enter Menu by pressing MENU on the remote, then go to connections. Then assign AV1 or AV2 to DTV or V.MEM. Then connect the sky box to the relating AV port.

Does your hdmi adapter have a usb connection to plug into a three point mains socket? Mine does, and unless you do run a cable from the usb to the mains I get exactly what you're describing, with the mains power it works fine. I only use the hdmi for my amazon stick as the picture quality os far better for sky through scart as other have suggested, but the hdmi adapter does work ok.

Hi Martin,

We have managed to get the sound and picture working! And in HD!

Now we do have one more problem. The problem is when ever we increase or decrease the volume of the TV we get this horrible beeping noise every time we touch it. Any ideas?

I really appreciate all of your help!

Best wishes,

Sam

Please tell us how you got it working.

You get a beep noise if you touch the metal frame of your tv ?

Hi All

I am servicing a Beovision 7 Screen and sound system and I'm having the problem mentioned in the above post:

"The problem is when ever we increase or decrease the volume of the TV we get this horrible beeping noise every time we change volume up or down. It is louder in the left channel than the right."

I have looked at all the audio signal cables and everything seems good. Any ideas how to fix the noise?

Sorry - pressed the wrong button and marked your post as an answer!

I think the buzzing when you change volume is related to the type of power link cable you are using - I had a similar issue with mine. Grab a replacement cable from Steve and see if that fixes it. For reference I was using a standard DIN cable - I'm not sure if it was a poor shielding issue or what, but when I replaced the cable the annoying buzz went away.

Hope that helps
