Hello,

I got my BLGW up running with some speakers and KNX (lights) and today I brought a Amazon Echo, Alexa.

1) As far as I can see i need a Khimo Account to get Alexa to work with IFTTT and BLGW to work - anyone who made Alexa work with BLWQ without Khimo?

2) If not, how do I get a Khimo account?? - I don't seam to be able to create an account on Khimo as I'm not na "installer".

Hi Jens,

In order to get a Khimo installer account you should do the following:

1. login to a BeoLink Gateway and navigate to Setup -> RemoteAccess. On that page, you will find a button with the following label:  "Request an installer account"

2. Once there, please click that button and follow the on-screen instructions to setup your account.

3. Please use BO9349 for retailer ID.

After you complete the 3 steps above, you should receive and e-mail from Khimo regarding your new account.

Hope this helps.

Hi Talfaia,

Thanks for providing the retailer ID above. I too was interested in setting up remote access and using IFTTT to integrate with Amazon Alexa. I can report it was incredible simple to configure all components. The Gateway the Khimo account and then linking everything together with IFTTT. Its has so far been rock solid too.

I don't think there is any other way to link them, per Jens question, without using Khimo because something is needed to link the local BLGW to a web service.

I also noticed that Amazon has a BeoLiving skill which is designed to work with the newer B&O/Khimo BeoLiving gateway. I initially tried this and while it did read the set-up from my BLGW and it was possible to create the "triggers" in Alexa it was somewhat unreliable. So I deleted and reverted back to IFTTT, which was very simple to set-up.
