I have factory resetted my BeoSound 5, but now I can't update the system since the system can't connect to the B&O update server.

Is there a way to get the latest SW version some other way?

Best regards

For about a month ago, I did the same, at that point the server worked fine. Are you sure your unit has access to the internet ?

I’m pretty sure the servers are down. I can’t connect to them either...

Seems that I just missed the last update from the servers.

Well, the question still remains; Is there a way to update a BS5/BM5 to the latest SW off-line?

Hi,

my BeoMaster 5 gives the following information:

BM5 OS Image: 7.02 (it's the version on the Harddisk itself)

BM5 OS Update: 7.03 (Update Version for the BM5 OS Image)

BM5 Application: 7.04.01.1945

But it's not only the Update Server which is not available but also the connection for N.Radio updates gives a 'Server not available' message. But this message comes also when the BeoPlayer application on my Computer tries to get an update for N.Radio.

Sadly not to my knowledge, I opened an support case but was asked to contact my dealer after some problem solving attempt from B&O support.

My solution was to sell my device in it's factory reseted state.

So what about the radio stations ? They cannot be downloaded either after factory reset ?

This is sad, as it effectively renders the Beosound 5's that need new MB or HDD useless after a complete reset with the USB service tool ?

After factory reset you'll still have a HDD audio player with Beo 4 / 5 / 6, Masterlink, MLGW and BLGW support.

Maybe somebody does have a clean Beomaster 5 with all the latest updates and can upload a discimage or something like that which can be used for future Beomaster 5 repairs.

Or if somebody knows where the updates are saved on the Beomaster 5 harddrive, only the updates can be uploaded to be save for future repairs.

Hi,

there's still an update available on the B&O server which is 200 MB in size.

If you check your Beomaster System on Drive D: there's a directory called 'D:\SWUpdate'. It should contain a file called 'UpdateInfo.txt' with a link to the newest version and where to place the downloaded file:

'07.04.01.1945;http://swupdate.bang-olufsen.com.gccdn.net/ftp/BeoMaster5/Mk1/Prod/SWService/BeoMaster5_704011945.exe;D:\SWUpdate\Packages\BeoMaster5_704011945.exe'

There are also some directorys 'AboutInfo', 'Packages' and 'Updateinfo'.

The update may be only usable for a system based on the image 7.02 which was on the disk of my Beomaster..

As i don't own a BeoSystem 5 i don't have a link for the latest BeoSystem version..

Controlling some Logfiles ('E:\BM-Share\Log') of the System it shows that the B&O Update Server was not avilable in July but is online right now since 30.07.19

I hope this helps a bit to save this nice piece of B&O computer device.

I boght my BM5 as defect, non starting, and replacedthe mainboard with a EPIA 1,5GHz version which contained an original B&O BIOS chip (?!?!) but was replace with the original chip from the nonfunctioning mainboard Smile

Activated Twonkyserver on the BM5 and installed TightVNC for remote access.

Hi

The filename is the same as on my BS5.

And I just made a copy, just in case.

I saw that the radio stations were updated as recently as august 23rd so I assume Radio is and hopefully will be working for a long time to go
