Hi All, I am having a few issues with my Beomaster 3000. The turntable will non run at 33 or 45rpm no matter what. I have tried 3 different sized new belts and still have had no luck. I have also refurbished the motor with instructions another user followed and had luck with.

Does anyone know a good fix. If not i will be looking to send the turntable into be serviced. If anyone knows anyone whom may do that near staffordshire in the UK i would love to know.

Thanks

Your motor wheel with the rubber edge is deteriorated.

You need to remove the wheel, and install it in an electric drill, then while it is rotating at high speed, apply steel wool to the rubber circumference.

That will strip away the hardened rubber on the edge, and expose softer rubber underneath, which will grip the brass pulley much better.

There is one additional problem which may occur, and here is a solution for that also.

If you cannot adjust the speed correctly, because too much rubber was stripped away, do this.

Remove the brass pulley, and apply 4mm heatshrink tube to the fat part, and 3mm tubing to the thinner part.

Heat the tubing so it conforms to the pulley shape.

That will get the rotation ratio back to the correct speed range.

BONUS - the Beogram will now be almost completely silent, as the heatshrink tube dampens the rotation noise.

3 different sizes?
Surely there can be only one correct size belt!
Where does all this wrong info and all those wrong parts come from?

Correct belts here:

And new idler wheels here:
