I was recently lucky enough to be given a Beocenter 3300, including the amp, turntable and cassette player and a pair of beo speakers. I'm really impressed by the sound, but sadly I am having issues with the turntable.

Whenever I play a record, it either starts off at the correct speed then speeds up within the first song or; starts playing too fast from the beginning. By ear, I'd probably say it's playing at 10% or 20% too fast - they don't sound like chipmunks, but the records are certainly too fast nonetheless.

I set up my Beogram 1700 (which the 3300 is replacing) just to be sure that it's not just my ears, and the Beogram 3300 definitely plays faster than the 1700.

I checked the belt movement whilst turning, and it seems to dip within it's first rotation, and rise up again. Also the removable top plate of the turntable sits unevenly causing the records to sit slightly squint, but only slightly. Other than that I can't see any other problems.

Has anyone else experienced this speed issue? Is it worth buying a new belt and trying that?

Thanks in advance for your help!
