I have found a nice pair of S55 speakers, cheap.
Is there any reason I would prefer them over my S45.2 speakers?
Yes, I love BASS, but would these S55 be an improvement?

Hi, and Happy New Year Jeff!
I wouldn’t be expecting too much from those.
They are lesser MC-120s, with a ridiculously cheap woofer and an inferior treble unit.
If you think MC120s don’t have enough bass, then it’s a no-brainer and I’ll take the S 45s over them any time.

Jacques forgot to mention that the midrange domes in your version are fakes.Behind the domes are standard cone midranges. The other version of Beovox S55 has real domes (you can see a bulge at the midrange circumference).
Beovox S55 is an excellent speaker in its own right, and it's quite surprising what they managed tosqueeze out of those drivers, but, given the choice, I would keep the Beovox S45.2
When you like bass so much - why do you go for the smallest speakers in the ranges? You would really like speakers from the 1980s JAMO POWER range. I know I've told you this before.

Thanks Jacques and Martin, the ONLY reason I brought this up is these speakers are cosmetically nice, LOCAL, and come with stands..... and are $25 for the pair.
Martin, yes sir you have mentioned the Jamo speakers lovingly on multiple occasions. I don't believe I have ever seen them for sale outside Europe.
Even for $25, I am going to take a pass. Jacques, you killed ALL possible interest in saying they are a cut-down version of the MC120.2 speakers.
