Hi all...

This is my first post to the forums (I am a new member).  Here it goes...

I have an Avant TV (bought in 2016) and recently got a WD My Cloud Home NAS drive.

I configured the My Cloud Home to work as a media server using the in-built Plex service.  My Beousound 1 and Beoplay M3 can see the NAS drive pretty much perfectly but my Avant only occasionally sees it.  This doesn't seem normal to me?

I have enabled DLNA functionality on it and as mentioned earlier my speakers (Beosound 1 and M3) can see the NAS drive all the time, it's only the TV that is having issues.  I suspect it's being caused by the TV's software update (it's using the latest software as automatic updates was enabled).

Does anyone here have the same issue or has encountered this before?  I have asked B&O Support to look into it, which hopefully they will do.

Appreciate your thoughts, ideas and comments...

I’m also using a WD My Cloud Home as NAS drive with the built in Plex/DLNA server.

My BV11 is on a cabled network connection, and it works just fine with the NAS. If your Avant is wifi connected, I would try to cable it.

Hi Dyssegaard...

Thanks for your reply.

Just to add some context about my network setup, my TV is connected to a Powerline adapter via Ethernet cable.  I have about three Powerline adapters in total around the house plus the master one which is by the router obviously.

My router for logistical reasons and due to certain present limitations is on the ground floor of the house (same floor as the Avant) under the staircase.  This however does not impact the signal of it.  My My Cloud Home is wired via Ethernet cable to the router.

Just out of interest is your router located near your TV and what’s your network setup like?

Hi suneetjulka.

My router is located in the center of our apartment, and the TV is max 10 meters away. The NAS is another room also max 10 meters from the router.

We have hard-wired Ethernet from the router to all rooms, so the only difference - compared to your setup - is that we don’t have any powerline adapters.

Ok - sounds like a good setup you have.  Unfortunately, I can't do the same.

Do you know if there is a way to refresh the list of attached devices in Homemedia?

Am I right in thinking that if I keep pressing the back button on the BeoRemote One it will keep refreshing Homemedia and eventually the NAS drive should show up?

Incidentally, when I got home today the first thing I did was test it and the Avant was showing the NAS drive without me having had to do anything!  But then some time later (a few hours later), it wasn't.  It just seems temperamental.

The NAS always shows up when I activate Homemedia. Sometimes there is a short delay after selecting it before all the folders are shown.

I’m not shure if the back button will refresh the Homemedia content as my NAS is always shown.

If your Avant is an Avant NG (Android based) things could be different from my BV11 ...

Hi Dyssegaard...

I think I have fixed the issue now.  I tried putting the NAS drive on the network using a spare powerline adapter and ethernet cable instead of having the NAS and ethernet cable connected to the router... it now seems that the TV can see the NAS drive all the time!  Hoorah!

Thanks for your help!
