Hi, I just purchased a Beogram 1000, working fine, but the arm doesn't lower enough onto the record. There's a spring hanging lose attached to a small blackring on the arm.

Anybody an idea where the other side of the spring should be attached? Maybe that will fix my issue...

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob, and welcome to Beoworld!

Yes this will most likely solve your issue. Also keep in mind that arm height could be wrong.

This is a picture from the Internet.

Thanks, it works! Thanks for the picture Chartz!

I hooked the Beogram up to a Beomaster 900, but the volume is very low, even if I turn that dial (screw) on the back of the Beomaster at maximum. Any idea what that could be or does it need an extra amplifier?

Thanks,

Rob

That's because you don't have the RIAA module fitted. You may either fit a phono board in the BM or in the Beogram.

Hello Chartz

I have just rebuilt a Beogram 1000 completely and am about to reassemble it. You mention the importance of the correct arm height. Is this a measurement and if so what is it please? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Kind regards

Tim

40mm from deck surface to the top of the suspension "ring".
It's all in the servicemanual. As a silver member you can download manuals.
Seeing as you are rebuilding a deck, I'm sure you already have it.

The adjustment is important since it sets the needle tracking angle.

Thanks Martin

I just downloaded the service manual.

This is my first rebuild so I am pondering if I should strip down the motor to lubricate (infuse) the bearings. The turntable runs at the correct speed but takes 4 or 5 revolutions to get up to speed. Do I need any special tools to take the motor apart please?

Thanks

Tim

About 4-5 revolutions is not uncommon to reach the correct speed.
But no doubt it would benefit from a thorough service.
