Goodmorning everyone! I ask you for help trying to solve this problem on my device. My Century everything works perfectly, a show for the ears, in a B&O center I had the whole Tape department restored 6/7 months ago as new ... but there is a but the CD works perfectly but presents this very strange and inexplicable anomaly: I turn on a CD and it starts to play for about 30/45 seconds after which it stops I start again and it doesn't freeze even listening to other 3,4,5 cd a whole day, in short it seems it has never had any kind of defect. I turn everything off after half an hour, an hour, 4 hours, the next day and we are back again, at the beginning of the first cd about 30/45 seconds it stops then I try again and everything ok as above, do you explain it? The center wants to make me change the laser ... (unrealistic figure over 300 euros !!!) and second not inherent to the cases and defect found, otherwise I believe it would never work or at least to the reload of the cd itself. Thank you all for any help you can provide. Marco
I suspect the problem will be similar to the other CD players using Philips technology where a duff capacitor will stop the machine working - the service department these days will always suggest a module replacement as this a case of unbolting one and bolting in a new one when all that is wrong is a cheap component. Here is a thread on the 9500 - I confess to not knowing the actual CD drive on the Century but I am sure it is a Philips as the cassette seems to be.
The next problem is finding someone capable of fixing it! The service manual is on site but the circuit diagrams are not as good as the earlier equipment.

As the owner of a Century from new in 1996 I’d say your best solution is probably to find one for sale second hand which has been totally reliable, like mine,or has been repaired recently. I imagine it would be cheaper.
