Hello,
I wonder if the Beo1 remote (originally designed for B&O BeoVision/BeoCenter 1 TV) can be used to control Beolabs 5?
Stand by (Off), Radio, Volume up and Volume down are the 4 functions needed.
If you put the Beo1 remote in Beo4 AV mode then you can still you those functions to operate the beolab5s
mjmedlo:I don't think he's talking about the beoremote 1
You're right, I'm talking about the old remote (I changed the title)
Hi,
you could try to set the Beo1 into Beo4 mode:
- standby+display+stop at same time
- then hold stop and press >>
- press display
Maybe that helps...

Best regards
As far as I know there are 2 ways to reprogram the Beo 1 remote.1.)press DISPLAY and hold it.press STANDBY + STOP while still holding DISPLAYrelease themsimultanously press STOP + UPrelease themSTOP + RIGHTrelease themSTOP + DOWNrelease thempress DISPLAYnow it should behave different than beforeI didn't find the second way of reprogramming it.
I`m afraid it is not possible to control BL5s directly(!) with a reprogrammed Beo1.
Afaik BL5 are controled in audiomode.
Did you read the post from 01-24-2010?
--------
"I just checked my Beo1:
It doesn`t work with my BS7000, BC9500 (both 2 way), BM3300, BS Century (both 1 way).
It works with my BV7-40 MKIII, BC6-26, BV6-22, Lintronic box.
It`s also possible to control the BS9000 (in OPT.0) via BV7-40.
Looks like you are right. Beo1 only works with Beovisions....(?)...strange."
-------
seems a reprogrammed Beo1 sends Beo4 commands in videomode (that would make sense...). That`s why I can control all my BVs directly, but to control an audiosystem I need it in A.OPT0 "behind" a videomaster. Maybe Linksystems in L.OPT 2 (or 6) also will work (?).

CB: Stand by (Off), Radio, Volume up and Volume down are the 4 functions needed.
I am pretty sure that you won't be able to use it for source selection - i.e RADIO. The DISPLAY button is actually more like MENU, but how can you go further to select a source unless viewing on a screen?
(Stefan you got there first! I was in 'reply mode' whilst researching my answer, and didn't see your very clear response!)
stefan: It works with my BV7-40 MKIII, BC6-26, BV6-22, Lintronic box.
Would it be possible to use a Lintronic box to convert the signal from Video mode to preferred signal in Audio mode that can be accepted by the BL5?//Stefan
BS3 DVB-HD, BV7-40 MKIII, BC6-26, BC6-23, BV4-50/BS2, BS5, BS9000, BL3500, MLGW, BLGW, PlayMaker, - BS6500, BS4500, LX6000, VX7000, MX5500, VX5000 - Beo6, Beo5, BeoTimex2, Linctonic
Yes, I was thinking about that, too - and that`s why I wrote "...not possible to control BL5 directly (!)...".
But I think, it`s a bit too much to buy an extra Lintronic box for that purpose, if you have one already, try it.
2nd but: As we all know, Lintronic always had and has problems with continous ir commands like volume level control....
3rd but: but you could the DISPLAY button to maybe CD (to activate BL5 and digital input) , STDBY button could be reassigned to STDBY in audiomode, arrows and GO maybe to control the connected non-Beo device....
BTW: Did anybody try to set BL5 to option 2 (L.OPT2?) The manual just describes L.OPT 0, 1 and 4 - could help to receive commands in videomode...
Hi CB,
(I know we're both french but i write "frenglish" for community sakes")
I own a Beocenter 6 and I wonder if the beo1 would work for me.
So far my Beocenter is configured as this :- Apple TV1 with kodi on SAT key via DVI in.- Radio with RADIO key as normal.- Home Airplay via an Airport Express connected to SCART1 with AV+V.TAPE on Beo4 (with screen off).
So Basically I need :- Source selection including "screen off" function.- Volume, Stand-by control.
Do you think it can work.
(The purpose of all this being that as much as I love the beo4, I'd rather a smaller, stylish remote).
Thank you.
Hi
According to the manual, it seems possible to do “something“...
Press the display button to open the display on the television screen to access to all sources and functions, or press it to exit a function, display or on-screen menu.
If you like (and if you’re near Paris or Toulon), I can lend you mine to allow you to make tests...
Thank you CB for your reply
