Hello everybody! I'm new to this forum and had to join as I have a strange problem with my BM 1900 and cannot solve it by myself.

I have done a full capasitor replacement for my BM 1900 a couple of years ago. I also changed the light bulbs and repaired broken potentiometers. The capasitor kit I bought from Dillen and got nice guides with it too.

I took the BM 1900 to use as it has been stored two years (in dry and cool place) while I was renovating the house. Now I noticed, the FM1 light doesn't work anymore. I thought it was just a bad bulb and replaced it but it didn't help. I've several bulbs and I've tested that they all work -I even tested the old bulb which was also working. Thea board seems to be ok too and the bulb gets I resoldered the whole board, where the FM lights are but nothing changed. I've cleaned the pins and button connectors (those brass snake tongues Smile ) but nothing helps.

Ok,I just noticed another problem: The right channel is very quiet. At first it worked ok but then suddenly the right channel dissappeared.

So, what am I missing? What could cause this behaviour? Are the caps gone again? Could there be somethinfg more fundamental wrong that breaks the right channel? What about the FM1 light?

Ok, and now the left volume control light is fully lit and right one doesn't work at all. Volume control itself works perfectly. And the right channel works at first and balance potentiometer works too, but  when I closed the aluminium lid I lost the right channel again. The BM doesn't humm, and everything else seems to work perfectly. Just some randomly appearing problems. If this was an old car, I'd definately say, it's a grounding issue.

There is something really strange going on with this Beomaster...

Check for shortcircuits at the connectors for the tonecontrol board.
Some versions have an open type of connector, where leads can touch circuitboard solder joints if not arranged carefully when fitting the board.

Yeah, must do that. I noticed that when I give a gentle tap to the programming section panel, right between preset volume and FM stereo buttons I can switch the right channel on/off. I have those open connectors in my BM so I must check that the connectors are ok. I covered the connectors with electrical tape when I did the caps replacement but maybe there is a broken wire orsomething.
