Hi there,

There is a weird non-descript "Bang & Olufsen In-Ear Headset" for sale at a major retailer in the Netherlands right now but I can't figure out which type it is. I can't find any reference to it on the Bang Olufsen website nor the BeoPlay archives. It's really cheap (retails for 79 euros, the sale price is 25 euros!!).

What is this? A fraud? Left over headsets which were created in collaboration with LG Phones or HP?

Here's a link:

These are a fake. The LG collaboration was with H3 in-ears. Report it, I’ve seen these on eBay and reported them and they’ve been removed from sale.

They are sold by big (legit!) companies. Weird this. Hope B&O are taking action!

These earphones were actually bundled with the LG V20 smartphone, see link below:

It might be leftover stock. These earbuds are now sold for 25 euro or something at a pharmacy store in the Netherlands, it’s crazy...

Ouch. My advice is always qualify statements like this first, please. You can be held account, legally, if you say something like this and get it so wrong.

Sorry I had seen these previously advertised as Beoplay H3 on eBay. I cannot comment if they were a real earphone supplied with a particular phone in selected markets. For example the Beoplay S3 was produced specifically for a mobile phone network and B&O dealers along with third party resellers were able to buy into having them but they weren’t required too.

WOW,... I'm surprised they're actually legit. Probably sound as good as my BANG & OLUFSEN tagged Asus monitor... Laughing
