I have a Beosystem 3 and DVD 2. They are in storage while I refurbish my main living room. The Beosystem 3 has a Freeview (DVB-T) tuner built in. Can I record from that built in tuner to the HDD of the DVD 2?
The Beosystem will be paired with my LG OLED TV and I'm hoping I can record a program from the built in tuner on the Beosystem while watching a different channel on the TV using the Freview Tuner in the TV.

leogoeswild:Can’t you put a usb I the tv and record to that?
Can I record a different channel to the one I'm watching by doing that? I thought there is only 1 tuner in the TV?
Duplicate post.
I would love to see a pic of your stacked BS3 and DVD2 system. I always thought that was a brilliant idea of B&O. However, in the U.S., our BS3 version does not have scart.
Hi Beojeff,
It will be a while before I get them set up. Here on the product pages is a picture of them stacked (one of the photos on DVD2 page shows It) I take it the lack of scart means you cannot control the DVD2 with a US Beosystem3?

The pics are from B & O

Correct. It's been my understanding that the only means of control of the DVD2 is via scart.
That is my understanding for most of the later video recorders along with the DVD 1/2 and the HDD 1/2.
Rather than re- post I thought I'd revive this thread. Can anyone help with the question I originally posted? The replies went off on a bit of a tangent and I didn't really get an answer.
I'm not too fussed that the recorded picture quality will not be as good as watching directly on the TV but as I have the Beosystem 3 (mainly for my masterlink system) I am hoping that I can use it and my DVD2 for recording TV.
Many thanks.
Hi Stoobie,
it should work with the following restrictions:
- No B&O sound possible while Live TV, only TV speakers
- You have to 'force' the TV to use it's built-in tuner and display the live TV (switch with the TVs remote from HDMI input to Freeview)
- No 'live' recording (by pushing <RECORD> twice on the Beo4) except this complicate sequence: switch TV to HDMI in 8TVs remote, start B&O freeview (now get your Beo4), select the same channel as Live-TV, start recording, switch TV to freeview (again get TVs remote). And don't forget to stop the recording afterwards in the same complicate manner
So to summarize all: It should work but is not the B&O feeling. And you need to have the TV remote also in use.

Thanks Ralph-Marcus,
I am hoping to program my Beo6 to control my setup. I'll hopefully have it all connected within the next month or so, and then I can start programming my Beo6. I might be able to program some sort of macro to do all the steps you suggested.
Many thanks
Ah, ok you got a Beo6 this makes it a bit more comfortable. Atleast no second remote lying around :)
