Beovision 7-40 with Beolab 2

Hi All.

Just bought myself a BV 7-40 which came with a BL 7.2. I have a spare BL2 kicking around and connected it to the TV. In settings it knows it has 7.2 connected but it would seem that, unless I attach some separate front speakers I cannot get the sub to work independently. I can select a random front speaker config and the sub operates but when I save the config nothing comes out the 7.2!? 

Is this the case or am I just being silly!!???

Try stepping through the different sound modes, i.e Speaker 1,2,3,4,5.

What is the type number ?
