Hi,

Does anybody know if I can fit a DVB HD module to a Mk3 BeoVision7? My local dealer is telling me it will not work.

Thanks, Andrew.

Did he tell you why it should not work?

I don't see why not.

Maybe you should try asking another dealer (who has a technician in his staff).

If you are talking about BV7-40 MK III - the first Beosystem 3 based BV7 - tell your dealer, that it will work...

Well - if the 7-32 already has a scaler built in (I am not quite sure if they were born with the scaler) and you can get a HD module, that should be possible.

There are some threads about this question on the forum - and were on the archived forum.

I can confirm that a DVB-HD module Type 4783 can be fitted to a mark 3 & 4 BeoVision 7-32

Type 4772 is available for BeoVision 7-32 mark 5

Perfect, and that unit will pick up UK Freeview HD? B&O are saying maybe not.

I woulda make sure you can still get the module I know some have been discontinued, even if you can still get it. Cost wise it won't be cheap for module software update and fitting you might be cheaper going external freeview box or freesat box

Kai is right that it is difficult to justify the cost of the module and its installation.

Personally, I would not add the DVB-HD module, but use a Humax STB controlled by the PUC which in my view would provide you with a better and certainly cheaper solution.

I reup this old thread 'cause i own a BV7 - 32 MK III  too...and currently it's working fantastically with an HUMAX DVB decoder (external).

But i found this pretty rare item (BV7-32 DVB HD B/C Modul)

http://www.ebay.it/itm/272135964265?_trksid=p2055359.m1431.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

But, considering that is no B&O dealer in hundreds of KMs from my home...do you think guys that it would be too difficult to mount it by myself?

I own the BV 7 -32 service Manual...but it definitely seems like a work to be done by Professionals...can you confirm this?

Great and RARE kit anyway, also with HDMI ports...

Hello guys,

let me reup this thread. I found an old BeoVision 7 at my granddads and saw that it has noted DVB on the Back. I can see a connection for a Satelite connection. Does this mean this TV is DVB-S or DVB-C ready? When I connect the TV to a DVB-C source it can't find any stations. Is there a way to upgrde the TV to DVB-C without an external receiver?

Living room: BeoVision 7 MKV + BeoLab 7-2 + 2x BeoLab 8000 + BeoLab 2 + 2x BeoLab 4000
Office / guest room: BV 7-32 MKIV / BL7-1; BeoSound Core + Turntable
Kitchen: BeoPlay M3
Bathroom: Gira Radio + BeoLab Celestial
Entrance: BeoPlay M3

Beovision 7 properly covers about a 100 different variants.

Size and type number for starters ?
