Hi! As a new (happy) owner of a BS 9000 MK3 please can someone explain me how can I use these features ?
What do I need how I can setup my iMac, BS9000 and beosystem 3 in order to use Nmusic and n radio?
I tried to read the BS 9000 guide ( Ralf :)) but it didn't give me a clue.
I apreciate your help!

You will need the Beoport / Beolink PC. And to use it on a Mac you also need software from a third party called BM-Link.
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)
Michael,
thank you very very much. I still have some problems:
- imac is far away from BS 9000 so: is there any wireless solution?
- BS 9000 is masterlink conected to beosystem 3 ( which has all speakers conected to it), so I don't have a free masterlink port on BS9000 : do I need some splitters?
Thanks!
There is one alternative.
This alternative would allow you to try out the N.RADIO, N.MUSIC features, before making the Beoport expense.
1. Download the Beoplayer program into your IMAC.
2. Connect a mini-stereo jack line from your IMAC headphone out, and connect the line in directly to your Beosound 9000. I have purchased a switch box from Steve at Sounds Heavenly which allows one to further use multiple sound sources to select from.
3. Using your Beosound 9000, select A.AUX, and select what you wish to hear on your IMAC screen using your mouse.
How do I know this works ? My Beoport fried somehow through a Belkin surge protector. The cost of the repair and replacement of the IC board is almost the price of a new Beoport. ( 800 CHF )
Nonetheless, I am waiting for my new Beoport to arrive, and came up with this solution while I wait.
liviu_o, I think you will really like the sound and choices with N.RADIO + N.MUSIC !
SWISS_2:There is one alternative.
And another alternative (I believe) is to get an Apple Airport Express (or PlayMaker ?), connect that to the BS9000 as an A.AUX, and set-up the iMac to use iTunes to broadcast to the AE (or PM).
The disadvantage is that the controls will have to be via an iDevice rather than a Beo4/5/6.
The advantage is that iDevices will also be able to play to the AE (or PM).
But before you rush out an spend money on the wireless devices, try Swiss_2's suggestion -- but not only test using a mouse, but try the iDevice controls as well (iTunes store App is called REMOTE from Apple)
BeoNut since '75
Also another option, buy a second hand Beomedia1.
Use the iMac to copy the music to the BM1 via Beoplayer/Beoconnect.
The quality of the audio of the BM1is better than the iMac DAC.
So as a newbie and recently purchased my first 9000 CD player and 8000 speakers, can somebody please explain to me what N.music and N.radio actually means?
