Hi folks,
Looking for a bit of help here have a Beo Core linked to BL8000s works perfectly with it wired to wifi router.
Got a samsung TV recently 50NU7020K - hooked up core to TV by optical and nothing plays from the telly. Changed settings to select optical but still nothing although the TV sound does go silent.
Bit stuck here help very welcome arghh! Stuck listening to samsung sound from the telly with a pair of BL8000s sat idly by :(
new to the game - awaiting my first BL 8000s MK1
Setting the output format of the tv to PCM should help.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hi thanks for the tip but no luck
I've also selected Optical from the Core app and realising the optical cable doesn't seem to attach into the Core correctly

Thanks again!

Yes, since the optical input of the Core is a mini-Toslink (the regular-size Toslink on the Core is an output, not an input).
(the Core manual could be a bit clearer in this matter, it does not explicitly state that a mini-Toslink is needed)
Ordered! Thank you - having never used optical ever before I didn't know, fingers crossed :D
I have a client with a similar setup. If connected via Optical, the only volume control will be via the Core? the client wants to control volume from the TV remote, a 3.5mm is the other option?

That depends on the TV. My the volume control of my Samsung does not affect the optical output, so in that case the Core's volume control is the only option, but other TVs may have different features.
So analog 3.5 is the safest bet if volume control from the TV is needed. On the other hand, there's no big loss in that solution unless your client has, let's say, beolab 50s and golden ears.

That's what i thought. I'll get him to get a quality 3.5mm cable.
