Hello all,

I have been reading this forum for a while but as i am not even close to be an "expert" i wanted to ask two questions and i would appreciate a lot if somebody could answer. There have been similar discussions in the past but i was not able to fully answer my questions.

I have 2 B18s which were connected to the beo hub with my samsung tv (UE78KS9080) but at the end it didn't stop giving problems. Now i am thinking to move to the Core and potentially i am thinking of getting 1 B19, thus,

1) If i have the two B18s, 1 B19, can all these be connect edto the TV via the core? If so could you please indicate how? Would i need a splitter for the TOSLINK and if so which type? If for example in 1-2 years i want to have more B18s can these be connected to the same Core?

2) Could the B18, B19 be connected to some other wireless transmitter (alternative to core e.g. wireless amp?) and the TV and using which wires? and finally does the core now support IR?

I am sorry if my questions are a bit naive but any input would be precious.

Thanks in advance

Welcome and there is no naive questions on this forum, just questions.

My setup is the following:

Samsung Hub -> optical out -> Core optical In

Core -> Powerlink (Cat7 Ethernet) -> B&O Transmitter 1

Transmitter 1 -> wireless -> BL18, BL19, BL8000/Receiver 1

The Core has no wireless capabilities so you’ll need a transmitter 1 for that, to which you can connect up to 8 speakers.

If you wire the speakers then it’s the usual wire method.

My Samsung TV has no volume control on the optical out so the Core must me configured accordingly and I control the volume via an Essence remote paired with the Core

You must set the Core with no sound delay on the Optical In to preserve sound / image synchronisation.

I’m sure it will trigger more questions, but it’s a start!

Thank you very much for your response it actually makes quite some sense. It is just i was not sure about the use of the transmitter. I thought that this could have been avoided....

One more question. Would you know if the core is IR sensitive or has become IR sensitive in order to avoid the use of the essence remote?

Once more thanks for your prompt response!

You are welcome.

I'm not familiar with the Core IR setup, but you'll find a thread here: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/26336.aspx?PageIndex=3
