Dear members,
my Avant RF 32 suddenly turned off when in use. Just like when supply of power is gone. No more standby indicator light. Then, after a couple of seconds, the standby indicator went on again and the TV was functional. However, not for long. Even when not in use and just connected to power, the standby light goes on and off irregularly accompanied with a clicking sound from inside the TV. When it stays on for some time, the TV works. However, this is not the case for long.
Any ideas what the reason could be? First thought is always the tube, but would the problem then also occur if the TV isn't even switched on, just connected to power? Anybody else had that issue?
Cheers,
Kai
Sound like your Power supply is dying...
Did you by any chance experience a "zapp" (high voltage flashover) sound before it died the first time?
Thanks! No, absolutely nothing, no smell, no noise, nothing! Meanwhile, I do not even get the Standby Light any more...
My avant 55 did that too before it stopped working at all. I think these TVs are not that reliable and not worth the money they want for them. I think you are better off with something else

Not a fair comparison,- the AVANT 32 is an old lady by now, and she can be fixed unless its a CRT issue, and it doesn't sound that way
As to your precarious Avant 55 issue check my suggestion in your original tread, I am sure it can be fixed by a third party shop.
@Kai
Where are you located? I have a ton of spare parts for the AVANT CRT ?
