Hello,

I acquired very recently a Beosound Core and am very happy with it running BL9s, BL12-2s and BL19 with it.

Okay, now the question, I would like to expand the radius of the music system and to have one wireless speaker to my system. I have been thinking of Beosound 1 (that is a multiroom product itself).

- Is Beosound 1 able to connect/sync as a wireless speaker to my present Core-based system?

- Any compatibility issues in any versions of Beosound 1 or anything that could create obstacles, does anyone know?

Cheers again, folks!

Beosound Core, Beolab 9s, Beolab 12-2s, Beolab 19, Beosound 1+2, Beoplay M3+M5+M5 David Lynch Ed. and Beosound 3000.

I have an early-example Core, integrated into a BV11, which controls BL18's and a 19 sub ... AND a first-gen BS1 in the kitchen.

Multiroom works well - either via the App or via the BS1 asking to join via a tap on the top surface.

My speakers are around 7m apart, though in separate rooms, with the BS1 on a Wifi connection. I don't experience any sound delays in ordinary use when in multiroom mode.

Not sure if there are later versions of the Core that support Airplay 2, but there are later models of the BS1 that add Google Assistant into the mix. Airplay 2 should be available to older BS1's via a firmware update, but I don't have experience of that myself.

Hope helpful

Yes you can join the BS1 to the Core (and vice versa) in a B&O multiroom experience, an Airplay2 group or a Chromecast group.

The BS 1 needs to be at the latest software version, that’s it

Note:

A Core integrated to e.g BV11 cannot use its built in Chromecast functionality.

Worth knowing if you have a Beosound 1 with Google Assistant.

Hello all,

And many thanks for everyone's advice. I have now Beosound 1 in operation and I am very happy at this point! The quality of the sound is immaculate and gives nice and needed extra boost in places where Beolabs don't reach!

Installation was not as clear-cut as I thought first with Android system and I managed best with my old iPad (adding new Airplay device onto network). After that, linking in multi-room with Core was easier.

But when done, the operation has been enjoyable so far!

The more (wireless) NL devices you add, the more fun it gets.

Starting with one, tapping on another and it joins..

Or sometimes multiple tapping and then get the damn phone out to sort out the devices as one is stuck as lead and the others will not join!

Oh the joys of technology Big Smile
