I have an extra pair of BL 6000s and wanted to make them wireless Airplay speakers. I am wondering is there advantage of Core vs Sonos Amp or even Apple Airport express? Why do people pay a premium for the Core? Just wondering...

I use a couple of sonos connect (non amp) with two sets of beolab 4000’s. I don’t have any b&o sources, and mainly use Spotify via the iOS app or sonos apps. One pair is in the bedroom, another in the office. In both cases I use the extra input on the sonos for my tv and pc respectively. The combo works really well.
Thanks! I’ll look into a Connect since they are really cheap now. I am guessing the software implementation of Sonos is likely also better than B&O. My concern was if the Core had superior audio quality for instance.

He's a great audio reviewer, some very high end, though this video is a comp of various streaming boxes to the Sonos Connect etc.

I do not think that the internals of the Core are technical superior besides the Powerlink jack to connect B&O loudspeaker easier.
Probably the price is twice as high, because B&O has to finance the continuously changing, unstable, faulty and planless software projects for Beovision 14, Avant, Beosound 5, Moment and now the Bang&Olufsen App.

The NAD M10 is a rockstar streamer. Although the Beolab 6000 probably would be weak link here. In my case I ended up getting an AirPort Express 2 on ebay for $48 shipped. I updated the firmware to enable AirPlay 2. I had a pair of Stereo to RCA cable so connected them and it works beautifully! I didn't realize you can even use this with a Beolab 2 since the Airport Express USB hub can be used as a trigger for the Sub! Anyway, I even tried it with an Apple TV 4 for Audio and there is zero sync issue. So no need for a core.
1. DAC on the AirPort Express is pretty good. There has been much research on this.
2. Speaker wakes and sleeps as expected when sound is sent to the speakers.
3. You can use Siri/AirPlay 2 for multi-room. The sound across my HomePod, beolab 6000, 8000 and A9 is perfectly in synch and works everytime.
