Dear forum members,

What is your opinion or experience regarding the best choice for a additional sub in a setup with BV Horizon - BL18 - BL3?

Will there be a noticeable difference between both subs?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

BL19 - it’s a Goldilocks product. Just the right amount of input, sharp and well timed. Great with movies and music. Wireless a nice feature.

A Beolab 19 will be far superior. If budget isn't an issue go for it.

A Beolab 14/S8 Sub can be had for about 1/5th the cost of a 19, it will make a little improvement but nothing to get excited about

Thanks guys,

I struggle with the BL14, as I find the bass from the sub to heavy and punchy. I find it hard to set up properly and wonder if this is due to my lack of knowledge of setting up a sub or that it is the sub to blame.

Switched from 14.4 to 18’s and much better sound. I set up the 14 sub also to test it with the 18’s but still do not like the heavy bass. It is not balanced enough to my ears. Now wonder what a 19 sub will bring me as I like the sub for movies. I want the sub to give me better bass at high volume music and deep bass for movies. The 14 is good for movies but music I’m not so sure.

Always thought that the 14 sub was rated very high by B&O internal software bass management (only sees 9/20/5’s more capable for bass redirection). So I’m confused about best way to include a sub to my setup.

I have 19 and 2 18s. It’s a great setup.

Sometimes I think about 20s without a sub but I think this combination is better

You’ll be happy with the 19 and 18s
