I thought why not try recording my Apple Music streams to cassette (for use in my classic cars). I don’t seem to be getting an audio signal from the REC OUT connection on the beovision 5.

Procedure:

Apple TV connected to TV (STB)

tape deck connected to V TAPE and REC OUT

beo4 press TV then RECORD twice... no signal.

This should work, no?

also tried Record Lock to STB. No luck.

Any help is appreciated

Hi Stu,

What connections are you using from the ATV to the BV5? I think you would need analog inputs in order to get analog outputs, right?

I’m using an HDMI converter with optical audio out. I don’t think it should matter as the signal should be analog by the time it gets to the REC OUT. It is described as a “pre out” in the manual.

I agree, but I know sometimes the manual states you need to make both analog and digital connections for everything to work. I thought that might be part of the issue. Do you have a way to get an analog signal in, even only as a test of the process?

You were right! I used the analog out from the HDMI converter. Worked right away. Thanks!
