Hello

Sometimes when I turn on TV. there is no sound. None of the speakers turn on.  Unplugging the TV, and plugging g it back in again always cure the issue, but lately this issue has been occurring more frequently

Any thoughts?

Is it just the BeoVision or does it start muted on a particular source?

The reason I ask is that when I start my Avant with the my button to go to FOXTEL (SkyHD overseas) it starts up but the picture is on and the sound is muted. I have to find my FOXTEL remote and press the mute button. This was an issue with the Foxtel box and not the Avant. I have now ordered a replacement FOXTEL box.

Is it just on the Freeview or equivalent internal  tuner that it happens? These tuners can lock-up from time to time leaving you with a blank screen, just sound, or just picture. Turning off and waiting a few minutes usually resets everything.

Is the TV enabled for auto software update?

Just a thought.

I have exactly the same problem. Speakers remain off when the TV starts. Volume control display on the screen is sluggish to respond, i.e. the display volume level changes very slowly when using the remote. Needs a power cycle to return to normal - which is pretty inconvenient for a wall mounted system.

One update: turning off SETUP > POWER SAVING > STANDBY QUICK-START TIMERS and putting the TV in and out of standby restores sound without having to pull power.
