Hi,
Wondering if there are any way to include my exsiting Beolab 17 speakers into Sonos Airplay 2 system?
Br
Carsten
Hi Carsten,
Welcome to Beoworld! Yes, you can easily add the Beolab 17 speakers to your Sonos network, you just need a Sonos Connect to link to the speakers.
Here is the cable you need to connect a pair of Beolab 17 speakers to a Sonos ZP80/90/100 or Sonos Connect:-

You only need one cable for each pair of speakers.
Kind regards, Steve.

I noticed you specified AirPlay 2 - The Sonos Connect doesn't have AirPlay 2. This is a feature that's very slowly making its way into the Sonos lineup and it won't be updating to existing hardware like the Connect. If you want a pair of BeoLab 17s to be available as an AirPlay 2 streaming target, your best bet today is to go with a BeoSound Core or a BeoSound Essence MKII if your local dealer has one laying around. Both are AirPlay 2 compatible and frankly not many "room kits' have entered the AirPlay 2 market. Most entrants are stand-alone speakers, AV receivers, or TVs.
Hi BeoMatthew,
Good point, however I personally wouldn't worry about Airplay 2 as the main benefit of this is multi-room streaming, which Sonos can do anyway via its own protocol. Beosound Core or Essence are great if you want to build a new B&O-based wireless network, but Sonos Connect should be fine for multi-room streaming via an existing Sonos network.
Thank you for your reply. It seems like BeoSound Essenes MKII is what I’m looking for. Is not cheap but I guess nothing is when it comes to B&O š
