Hi BeoWorld,
I have a question which I hope someone can answer. In the main listening room I have a BeoSound 5, BM5, BeoVision 12, BeoSystem 4, and BeoLab 5 Speakers. When turning on just the BeoSound 5 for music only, initially the BeoVision 12 Screen has to light up, music then starts, then the BeoVision 12 screen darkens some but doesn’t turn off completely. The screen always still appears “backlit.” Is something not connected properly? I find this very irritating when I am sitting in a darkened room trying to relax while listening to music only. I really don’t care to have a partially lit TV screen staring at me. I am not wanting to watch TV. Experienced this same issue in the same setup with the BeoSystem 3. I thought with the introduction of the BeoSytem 4 this issue would have been addressed. Is there something that I can disconnect or a software update that I can download to correct this problem? When listening to music only why does the BeoVision 12 need to turn on at all when just listening to music? Could there be something wrong with the BeoSystem 12? Is this just the way it was designed to work? Just doesn’t seem right for it to work that way? Can’t believe that B&O would be “OK” with it working like this? Any thoughts, comments or suggestions? Can this be fixed? Can something be disabled?
Thanks,
Ed
Mine does the same, occasionally.
I have no idea why.
My setup is BV12 + Beosystem 4, with 18s,3s and a 19 as speakers, and a Moment integrated to use these as their primary speakers.
Not sure if its. day / night thing. The "screen remains backlit appearance behaviour" doesn't seem to happen during the day, but I can definitely say its happens (or happens more) at night, when the lights in the lounge are well down.
Sometimes when I am watching TV on the BV12, when I turn it off and go to bed I also get the screen backlit appearance - it goes black after a few minutes though. So I'm not sure if its a music source / speaker connection issue.
Thanks Sandy for responding. My main question still remains: Why does the BeoVision screen need to turn on at all when just listening to music only? While listening to music only I really don’t want to see a backlit TV screen.
