Hello to you all,

I'm new to this forum and this problem may have already been discussed, so apologies if you have already seen it.

The item seems to work correctly,(after re-soldering a dry joint and replacing the lamps), but it gets far too hot within minutes of use. The transistors on the base plate seem to be the culprits but I'm not sure of the cause.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Paul

The idle current has probably drifted. Adjustment is done as described in the service manual and in this post:

The trimmers will be bad from oxidation, often to the point of falling apart physically.
Replace the trimmers and adjust.

Thank you Martin for your reply,

Do you know where I can obtain the necessary parts for this repair?

Regards,

Paul.

Any good electronics component supplier will have them.

- Or me.
They are part of a quite comprehensive servicekit available for this model, containing new components for all
electrolytic capacitors, tantals, trimmers and lamps.

Hello Martin,

That's good news, do you have a website or can you tell me the cost of the trimmers and also the complete service kit?

Regards,

Paul.
