I recently purchased a Beomaster 3000-2 Type 2402 that supposedly produced no sound through the speakers. I verified that the headphones worked fine, so I figured the fix might not be so hard. When I got home and plugged in some speakers I had no sound at first, but I started fiddling with things and when I moved the Test switch on the back of the unit I heard a pop. Then I found that I do get sound from both channels if I place the switch at just the right spot between the top and bottom positions.

I have no idea what the test switch does really, but I wonder if this is a common problem and perhaps I just need to repair the test switch to get it working correctly. As it is now, any slight movement of the switch kills the sound again.
