Can anyone tell me if it is possible to playback through a 5 pin din cable connected to an separate amplifier, like for instance a Beomaster 2000.

Yes, it's possible.
Use the radio socket and you will also be able to record from the Beomaster (Radio/Phono etc.)

I followed up on your suggestions and now I am playing a tape and listen to the music from speakers connectled to the BM2000.
