Hi Alls,

I found bought a set of Beocom 6000 at a fair price. The set include:

-1 silver pyramid base.
-1 black charging station.
-3 handsets MK1.
-2 spares handset keyboards (the light gray part).

And the Guy was kind to give me as a gift a B&O Bottle Opener !

My goal is to fit inside a bluetooth handset to pick the calls from my cellphone (dont ask me why :-))

But prior to this i wanted to try the beocom.

The main base + handset work fine. I managed to send and receive some calls with it.

One handset seems to be stuck/frozen.

The third looks fine but won't register to the base. I've tried resetting both (•70009, unplug from mains…) with no luck. From what i get from research on the forum, there's an RF chip which happen to be quite weak. Could this be the reason why he dont find the base ?

And a side question… On the three HS, the volume control for the Ouverture works fine. Could someone telle me how it works ? Dont seems to be IR. Find it quite magical!

Thank you for you answers!

With the stuck/frozen one it could be worth trying a working battery from one of the others.

The rf chip fault is very common and would be the reason why a particular handset does not find the base.

And the volume control is IR - via the two small dark circular bits at the top of the handset.

Thank you Guy for that prompt answer.

I've try to swap batteries. It didn't help at all.

Then i must have 2 dead RF handset. That will be easier to do my little dirty bluetooth trick on a dead one.

Thank you also for solving that volume mystery!

Cheers.

I'll be interested to hear about your Bluetooth handset modification - I have a few dead BC6000s in a box somewhere!

Thanks Guy. I had the same issue with two handsets, one working while the other temperamental. I swapped batteries and the second handset now works. I'll order a new battery online. I had found this brand FDK online and it's the one working.

I've also swapped the battery covers to make these two more interesting 😊
