Hi!

I just noticed a strange thing on the top of the screen on my BeoVision Avant 55 (FG) screen. It looks like a black tape on the loose behind the front glass!?

Never noticed it before, but now when I know it’s there is it very annoying, even if I only see the tip of it from the normal viewing position.

This raises some question?

• What is it?

• Can I fix it myself?

• Must something be replaced?

• Is it expensive?

I had the front screen replaced on guarantee when the set was new, but that must be four years ago now, so I don’t count on a free replacement this time.

I think it would just be a rubber spacer to protect glass and screen. Just become loose... might be easier for a B&O tech to do... i don't think you can get in there otherwise

Thanx Rob!

I believe you’re right. The problem is that my technician is located 1,5 h away. Sad

I will contact him and ask him to give me a call when he is in the neighbourhood.

Did you try with a vacuum cleaner?

Maybe it does not stick that much?

Avant screens often have dust on the inside so I take them off and clean them now.  It's about an hour and a half to take it off, clean it, and put back on.

Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots of screws. Geeked

Thanx, Millemissen and Lee. I will take a closer look to see if I can fix it myself.

HI Lee - my Avant has so much dust behind its screen, I'd love to clean it myself if possible.  Can you share some details on how you went about this?

I got the Service Manual and gritted my teeth!!  I also have the service feet for the Avant, which really help...

I think it’s the gasket coming loose. There should be a protocol for b&o to replace under warranty. They have videos on it after all.

I bought the Avant the first week it was released in may 2014, so I don’t count on any warranty in this case.
