Ii understand the horizon is 4k and the bv11 is 1080p however the horizon is £3.2k
In your onpion which do I buy?

Which 'Mk' is the 11-55?
I think it's a MK3.
Is there much difference in the picture quality on the panel between the MK1 MK2 MK3 and MK4?
Ok.
I won't be able to see either side by side.
So you go bv11 then? Even though the horizon throws up a 4k image?
BV 11-55

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Number of pixels/resolution is not the most important aspect of a TV by far. Black levels/contrast (the ability to do deep blacks and different shades of black), gray scale linearity (the ability to not over or under emphasize different brightness levels), and color decoder accuracy are all far more important to giving you a good image. The Horizon has a very poor, low contrast panel and from what I've heard won't be as problem free as the BV11. In my opinion the BV11 was the last "real" Beovision.
I've got an old Panasonic EDTV plasma, not even HD (480p, not even 720 or 1080p) downstairs in the spare room that has a better picture than most any LCD based set you can get at a reasonable price because the contrast is better. I've got a decent (about $600 when I got it a couple of years ago) Samsung LCD that the picture on the Panasonic blows away and is much more enjoyable to watch.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
I wouldn't be in your shoes to do that choice.
I'm not a specialist in BV TV's and i would certainly trust all the advices above. But I also love the design of the Horizon over the very beautiful but more "massive" (not the right word but you see what I mean) BV11.
That said, it's very true that when I see the Horizon in store I wasn't blown by the picture quality which I found very close to an average samsung TV.
