Hi all,

My Beosystem 3 (type 9606, with DSP board upgrade to AST) is now stuck in "safe mode" and I'm having trouble getting it back to normal.

It's driving both a Panasonic TH-27PH10UK plasma display and a Sanyo projector and it has worked fine for years. Only the plasma display (display #1) has the "SAFE MODE" message on the top of the screen, and the system otherwise works just fine. I can't find any info on the internet, and I've tried the following:

  1. Unplugged the DVI from the monitor and plugged back in.
  2. Unplugged BS3 for 1/2 hour, then plugged in and left untouched for 3 hours.

Neither of these had any effect. Any ideas on how to clear this?

Thanks,

Beopaul

Hi BeoPaul

The safe mode signal indicates that there is an EDID issue. You need to go into the service menu and adjust monitor auto detect.

I have added some screenshots for you Smile

I have a similar problem. My second hand BS3 MK 2 arrived today but when I hooked it up with my LG TV or computer monitor, it’s stuck in the safe mode and I can’t do anything with my BeoRemote One IR. Can anyone help? Thanks!
