So my dealer doesn't have the Beosound Stage so I can't demo the product.

I was willing to install 3 x Palatial ( L/C/R ) + 2 Celestial ( SR/SL ) but I'm now hesitating.

Room is 170 sq.ft or 16 m2. I'm not sure if the Stage is an enough replacement for a surround amp + passive speakers.

Any recommendation ?

The Stage is a single sound system. You can’t connect additional speakers to the Stage.

So the setup you have in mind is not possible.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I'm not willing to connect additional speakers to the stage.

I'm lost between two setups :

1 - TV + beosound stage

2- TV +  2x Celestial +  3x Palatial + Sub + Surround AMP.

I am not sure if the stage can be enough to replace the setup #2.

Depends on how demanding you are sound stage wise.

I think the summary would be that the Stage is very good for a sound bar, but if you really like the fidelity and width of a setup with speakers around the room, then the Stage can only be an approximation, albeit a decent one on its own merits.

Personally I'd never have one as my main setup, though it's probably very good for a second room.

Honestly I wasn't expecting much from the stage but listening to this demo on youtube, the sound is really awesome for a soundbar.

And that's over youtube and in a relatively open space

I agree with Sandyb on this.

It very very much depend on what you expect - and a 16 m2 isn’t that big.

Two rather different solutions as I see it.

A Stage setup will be quite easy to handle - the surround receiver with the Celestials solution a bit more complicated.

Why not just order a BS Stage online to test it out.

Listening in your own room is more important than just listening in the shop.....maybe you won’t be disappointed ;-)

Which tv do you have?

MM,

Problem is B&O doesn't deliver to my country.

I have a Sony 75" X940E ( there was no HDR beovision back in time ) which I really like.

So far the pros and cons of each setup is :

Beosound Stage Pros :

-  Easy to setup

-  Less expensive

-  Easier to replace

- Dolby Atmos , Airplay 2 and other streaming perks.

Beosound Stage Cons :

- Difficult to integrate in home automation systems ( Crestron specifically )

-  ARC doesn't support True HD 7.1 and DTS-MA lossless and very few TVs support eARC

The Celestial + Palatial  ( with magnetic grills ) + Subwoofer + Surround AMP will cost around 15,000 USD which is almost 10 times more than the stage however, it's a 5.1 system.

Pros :

-  Can be integrated with all automation systems

-  Lossless audio

- Lower bass extension obviously because of the subwoofer

Cons:

-  Very difficult to replace or upgrade ( drilling, size, etc.. )

-  Expensive as noted above

-  More power and space consuming

-  No Atmos support

Looking at the cost alone, I'm not sure if the $15k system will offer a much more enjoyable movie experience .

-  ARC doesn't support True HD 7.1 and DTS-MA lossless and very few TVs support eARC

- Integration with Creston using the BeoLink Gateway/BeoLiving Intelligence has been possible with B&O gear for quite a while.

- Your tv does not support eARC either, or?

And why would you need 7.1 for a 5.1 setup.

The only (legal) sources for TrueHD/DTS-MA are blu ray disc - just connect the player to the Stage and you are good to go.

Right, my TV supports HDMI ARC not eARC. All my Blu-ray disc are ripped and stored on my media server ( Plex )

When I said integration is complicated I meant Beolink Gateway Stick out tongue As I don't use one.

Everything is IP controlled by Crestron and there are modules available for B&O but the stage is not supported according to the website. My Avant, BL and moment are supported

Alright - then the case is clear!

If you don’t have a player (for the Plex), that can decode (both) the HD audio formats, you will need an A/V receiver in the setup for that purpose.....that is if the player you use, at least can passthrough the audio to it.

That list is not up to date - the BS Stage should behave just like all the mentioned audio systems, since it is basicly the same plus the ability to work with a tv (using the HDMI ports).

P.S. As for buying the Stage online.....I can’t know, where you are located.

But both the alu and the bronze versions seems to be available via Amazon.com:
