The (for some) unreadable quoted text in the OP is:

"Good morning -

I wanted to share my experience connecting a vintage Micro Seiki MB-14 (or any third party turntable) to Beovision 7-55 MK1 with Beolab 3 and 7.6 speakers.

First, if you're wavering on the benefits of a good vinyl player married to B&O, don't. The sound is glorious. Punchy, warm, good bass, and sparkling trebles. I listen to CD, Blue-ray Audio, and subscribe to Amazon Ultra-HD, an uncompressed streaming service. Vinyl, for me, is by far the most rewarding way to listen to music.

Now the steps

- If like me you opt for a non B&O ("Beogram") turntable you need to check its connection outputs, type of cartridge (MM or MC), whether it has an in-built phono stage / pre-amp, and if there is an earth ground wire coming from to tone arm.

- Mine is RCA output, MM cartridge, no pre-amp, and has an earth ground wire.

- Our friend Steve at www.soundsheavenly.com supplied the high quality pre-amp and RCA connectors. All delivered within 1 business day and at a cost of just £59.99. Steve was also on hand for tips and advice.

- I connected the turntable's RCA IN to the pre-amp, power cable, and RCA OUT to AV6 on the Beovision 7-55 (these are the side phono connections marked 'Camera' in the Connections menu).

- On the Beovision Connections Menu I assigned AV6 to 'TV' source on the Beo4 remote.

- Now I was ready to go. Loaded the vinyl (Frank Sinatra), selected Speaker 2 on the Beo4 for just Beolab 3 to play, and gently lowered the stylus.

- Problem - there was a strong hum coming from the speakers. As the hum was also present on Mute I knew it was a connecrion issue.

- The obvious candidate was the turntable's earth ground wire which having not seen a dedicated earth screw on the pre-amp I left dangling.

- But quickly solved - on Steve's recommendation I attached the ground wire to a screw on the casing of the pre-amp and tried again.

- Wow! Glorious, warm, engaging tones enveloping my ears. Truly a lovely sound.

But I wasn't done

Wanting to see if the lovely aound could firther be improved, I bought a Hudson acrylic mat and Nobsound stabilizer from Amazon. Links:

The combination of B&O, vinyl, Micro Seiki, good connectors and pre-amp, and the arcylic mat and stabilizer -- is truly wonderful. And recommended for any lover of music.

What's your experience?

Thanks, Owain"
