I have this IR eye and I cannot understand the wiring. All I know is that it was used in a setup with a BS9000 mk1, so it is from that timeframe.

Any help on this? I want to use it with a Beosystem 3.

I am not sure what IR eye that is!  AFAIK all the B&O ones have either 5 or 7 terminals.  Perhaps look for a part number and/or post a picture of the front.

For BS3 control, have a look at this thread: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/14944.aspx?PageIndex=1

Is one of the terminals a dummy - i.e not connected to anything?
