Greetings from Texas!  I'm a long time B&O owner that just discovered this great site. I've recently acquired a Beogram 7000 that i want to run through my Beovision 7-55.  What is the best location to attach the the 7000 to the TV that will allow me to run the turntable using the Beo4 remote?  Will the TV turn on when i use the turntable?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks, George

Hi, congrats on scoring a BG7000!  The BG7000 has an on-board RIAA preamp so you can connect it to one of the analog inputs on your TV. The remote won't work in this setup at all.

If you want to have the remote control the BG7000 it's not simple. You'd need to connect the BG7000 to a Beomaster 7000 (or 6500) and then connect the Beomaster to the TV using a beolink converter 1612. The beolink converter 1612 would be connected to the Beomaster via the aux/tv jack on the BM to the 7-pin DIN on the 1612, and then you'd use a masterlink cable to connect the 1612 to the TV. In this setup the remote would control the BG7000 via the BM7000.

Hi George,

Welcome to Beoworld! As Bill mentioned, remote control of the Beogram would need a Beomaster plus Beolink Converter (or a Beosound 4000/Ouverture) to be added.  However, a direct connection with manual control of the Beogram is also possible, using this cable in the red and white AV4 inputs of the TV:-

Hi Steve,

Well the turntable i purchased came with the cable you suggested.  Since operating the table is a very manual process, i can live without using the remote. Any suggestion as to which AV inputs to use?  Should i connect to the AV inputs for connecting a video recorder?  Will turning on the turntable activate the speakers or do i need to turn on the TV to recognize the inputs?  Thanks again for your help/

Regards,

George

Hi George,

You can use either the Camcorder inputs or the AV4 inputs on the TV, but you will need to manually set the TV to the input that you choose.

Kind regards, Steve.

Hi Steve,

I've connected the table to the camcorder inputs in AV6. I'm using an older Beo4 remote, do you think the "camcorder" option on the remote will activate the TV? Do you know if the TV screen will illuminate when playing a record?  Do you think the AV4 inputs are more suitable? Apologies for asking so many questions, this is more complicated than i thought...

Regards,

George

Hi George,

No problem, either AV4 or AV6 inputs can be used, on most versions of the TV you will need to manually turn on the TV for either option.  The screen will light up, but on a newer remote you can use the Picture Mute (P.MUTE) command the blank the screen.

The advantage of the AV4 input is that it can be sent to other rooms over Masterlink if you have other B&O devices connected to the TV.

Kind regards, Steve.
