Hey,

Does anyone one know how to take the top off a Beocord 3500? I have managed to access the bottom of the pcb boards through the base but can't get to the mechanics through the top of the machine and need to check the motors/ belts etc. as not working at the moment.

Thanks a lot,

Joe

If the automaric lid is not working, then you need to take off the bottom plate, and manually open the lid by turning the gears for the opener. Once the lid is open, then you can detach the lid by pushing a flat screwdriver into the hole over each hinge.. then you can slide the lid upwards off the hinges,

Then you need to remove the glass by insering a very small screwdriver, or something pointy in the small hole right underneath the glass to the right(6cm or so from the right), then you can slide the glasspanel to the left.. Be aware that the tape that holds the glas propably will go loose. So you might need to reattach the glass to the holders before inserting it again..

Once the lid and glass is off, there are 3 screws at the back, you can see which by looking where the "holes" for the screws are located on the top "grills" When you have the 3 screws removed, you can pull the whole plastic top off..

IMPORTANT !! If you decide to reattach the glass, DONT scrape the old tape off... Use cleaning petrol to dissolve the old tape, and rub it off under warm water.. The paint on the glass is very sensitive, so never ever scrape anything off...

This question is on a Beocord 4500.

Once the bottom was off the lid magically began working.

All functions work, but the belt is in terrible shape and needs replacement.

To access the belt, I need to get in from the top, but how?
