Hi All,

I've recently purchased separately the Beomaster 6500 and an Beogram CD7000, I've looked online with regards to the compatibility of these two units and I cant seem to find anything that indicates that I'll lose any functionality as a result of their different model numbers/generations.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular combination?

Also, I'll be trying to hunt down the missing tape deck and turntable, can anyone provide any advice as to which units I should be ideally looking at getting. I'm I better off with the 6500 series to match the amp or is the 7000 series superior.

Many thanks,

P.

You can also use either the Beogram 6500 or 7000 since they both have on board RIAA preamplifiers. The Beocord 6500 and 7000 can also be used. Although they look similar, the Beogram 5500, 5005, and 5000 are not compatible because they lack the on board preamplifier.

On 2 rare occassions, I have had BM7000's with the optional RIAA board inside. They do exist. A small RIAA board with smd components that is vertically placed on the audio selection board.

Hi

The different between Beosystem 6500 and 7000 is only related to the Beomaster...

Beomaster 6500 has no RDS Modul and 20 presets radio stations

Beomaster 7000 has a built in RDS Modul and 24 preset radio stations, the RDS Info is not visible on the radio itself, but only if you have a Beolink 7000.

Beocord and Beogram Lp is 100% identical (beside the number on the front)

Beogram cd is also identical, but the 7000 had an firmware update around 1993 that allowed track numbers above 14 to be shown on Remotes (MCP Beolink 5000, 7000) and speakers with display.

Beosystem 6500 was sold in 2 colors, blank and white...when the 7000 was introduced they added a Black Version as well.
