Hi Guys,
First I'd like to say thank you for the tips on greasing and oiling :-)
I have another problem that I'm hoping you can help me with...
I've just purchased a Master Control Panel 5000 (my system didn't come with one) and its not working as it should.
All the functions and screens etc. work but only if its within a metre of the system... The beomaster 5000 receives signals from much further away but the remote wont get a reply over 1m (hope that makes sense)
So the IR signal from MCP to beomaster is fine, but beomaster to MCP IR signal seems weak.
Any pointers?
I've had a look through the forums but can't find a similar issue.
Thanks in advance,
Lee
Replace capacitors and dust off the IR transmitters in the Beomaster.
Martin
Hi Martin,
Really that drastic? I have little soldering skills so this would be outside my ability :(
Looking at the MCP it looks like its had some batteries that have leaked at some point.. Would it be worth replacing the MCP for another or is the problem likely with the beomaster?
Thanks,
Yes I had the same issue and the steps above solved it, especially cleaning the IR windows!
Jacques
Ive tried cleaning the IR window and now it says No Transmission all the time no matter how near the remote is :( also the loudness indicator on the amp seems to have a very slight glow behind it even when loudness is switched off... Is this probably the caps aswell?
Where can I get the caps changed?
Thanks again,
I'm convinced this is a problem with the MCP 5000, I gave it a shake and a tap and its working again.... It seem to be intermittent. Im going to send this MCP back and order another to confirm.
I would still like to know If anybody is able to do all the re-capping work as Im sure its ready...
Thanks
I know this is an old post but I'm having the same issue.
When you say replace capacitors. Are you relating to just the ones on the IR board 9 on the BM5000 ?
Is there a kit?
I still think it may be an issue only since changing the batteries in the MCP5000 but never got a chance to test it before I put new batteries in.
Many thanks
Jerry
