Hi,
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but what does this sliding mechanism on the Beolit 600 and 700 do? I see that it seems to have an electrical connection, but have no idea how the metal part is moved from one side to the other, or what it might control. See black arrow pointing to item in question in the photo attached:
Thanks!
It keeps the row of batteries in the battery compartment together for good electrical contact and transfers voltage from one endof the battery row to the electronics. A similar connection is found at the other end of the battery compartment - though merely as a steady contact point.

Thank you Dillen.
As I only use the mains supply, I had never tried using any batteries. I was going mad trying to figure out what it was for!
It all makes sense now.
