Hi. I wonder if anyone can help... I'm trying to sort out an issue for my father-in-law (i'm not particularly technical and he is even less so!). He has a relatively new Sony Bravia TV, a Rotel RA12 amplifier and a pair of BeoLab 6000 speakers.
The TV is connected to the amplifier by an optical digital cable and the speakers are connected to the amplifier's "pre-out" outputs. This seems to work fine when the TV is playing "standard" terrestrial channels, but when using Netflix/Amazon Prime (i.e. anything with 5.1 audio) the speakers make a horrendous buzzing/static noise...
Can anyone help me with this? I apologise if this is a very basic question or if I have used the wrong terminology... as I said, I'm not particularly technical, just trying to help my father in law out as it's driving him mad being stuck in isolation with speakers that don't work!!
Thanks in advance
Rob
Hi - issue now resolved, it was caused by a setting on the TV's digital output. Nothing to do with the speakers.
Thanks!
