Hi,

Recently, I have had my 4002 returned to me after about 20 years on loan.  I will not go into a long and sad story but it is in a terrible state - most dissapointing.

Anyhow, it appears that at some time the plastic stylus guard has been knocked off the MMC20CL.  The person then detatched the guard from the MMC20EN (the cartridge they were supposed to be using) and glued in onto the MMC20CL with epoxy resin, crooked and in the wrong place!

Assuming I can detached the nosecone from the MMC20CL without damaging either, can anyone tell me how it was attached in the factory?  Photos seem to show that (unlike the botched repair job - epoxy all over the place) only a small part of the guage was actually attached to the cartridge body.

Any help will be gratefully received.

Regards,

Bob

BTW

Ther will be plenty of other posts required to get the turntable up to a presentable state.
