I have connected my beocenter 2 to my JVC tv via my Beocenter socket unit and to my speakers beolab 6000.

Cd's play ok and also the radio ok via my remote.

However the dvd plays but only when I opertae via the beocenter local controls

The Beo 4 remote does not work.

I also have a green screen displayed on the tv and cannot alter it.

So cannot watch any dvd's and whilst I can get the menu to display on the tv screen it does nothing and I cannot adjust anything.

I have read my user guides a number of times but I am not getting any positive results.

Help Please.

Thanks

Rob

Hi and welcome to Beoworld!

I think that you may need to set the BC2 in A.OPT2, so that it will respond to audio and video commands from the Beo4.

To do this:

Turn to standby/off.

On the Beo4, press the POWER button and LIST together.  Then press LIST until OPTION is shown, press GO (centre button), and then press LIST to show A.OPT.  Then press 2.  The power light on the device may blink to show that it has been accepted.

Then see if the Beocenter will respond to DVD.

Hi Guy, Thanks for the welcome to Beoworld, also having trouble trying to navigate here since logging in found it difficult to get to your reply which of course I received on e mail.

I really appreciate your swift reply and, what you instructed me to do works. Hooray and thanks. However how do I get rid of the green screen. Can get the menu up on the TV but cannot seem to move around it and the green screen makes it more difficult to see.

Hope you can help again.

Rob

Hi Rob,

Well I am glad that worked!  Unfortunately I don't have a BC2, so my advice will be limited from this point!

Can you now access all the menus?  Is the only problem with the colour of the screen, in which case I would investigate all your cabling in the first instance?  Maybe try another SCART lead, if that is what you are using.

I didn't read your response fully and can see that you are still unable to access the menus.  One thing I did notice in the manual is that you have to have a DVD inserted in order to access the menus - is that what you are doing?

Also, have you experimented with the DVD Options Menu as mentioned in the manual, particularly the SCART VIDEO OUT setting, which can be CVBS, Y/C or RGB/CVBS?

Hi Guy,

Yes I have inserted a DVD and it works. I am them able to get the menu up on the screen, but it's difficult to see the various boxes. I can note that I move to different parts of the menu but then I am not able to get to the area that would allow me to deal with the picture problem.

I think previously when I was only able to access the menu via the beo2 (not remote) that I think I did something to cause this green screen.

But I cannot seem to return to that part of the menu? So not sure what to do?

Thanks again for your help.

Hi again,

Yes I have checked the scart out and settings and believe that they are correct. It notes for all other TV's it should have RGB/CVBS which I have saved on the system

Can you get into the service menu and then reset to default?

According to the service manual, you can access the service menu on the keyboard by pressing LIST SETUP then pressing >> and then (within 3 seconds) 0 0 GO.

You may need to redo the A..OPT2 setting after a reset.

Remember that the manual really means 'for any other B&O TVs'.  I would therefore experiment with other settings.

Hi Guy,

All sorted now. Re-set to default and then re-did the DVD settings. All working ok now and I can now adjust other settings as necessary such as sound etc.

Really appreciate your help, especially with your swift responses.

I look forward to using Beoworld on a regular basis now.

Best wishes

Rob
