I would like to record from the built in DVD player on an Avant 32 to an HDR1. Can this be done?

Yes in theory you can.

But DVDs have copy protection.

So it won't work.

I think it would work as long as you connect the HDR1 TV SCART socket to the V.TAPE socket of the TV and use a fully wired SCART lead.  The socket should be configured as V.TAPE, and you should initiate recording from the HDR's menu.

But I may be wrong!
