Hi,
I bought pair of Beovox 3800 because I need trumpet stands for my Beovox 5702. When I refurbished stands I start listened Beovox 3800 and... it really good soundings loudspeakers. I started renovation... and finished. Here is short photostory.
BeO is like a good wine - the older the better...
After purchase:
I renovated trumpets
I took it to my 5702
and I stayed with Beovox 3800
Because old veneer was really in bed condition
I decided to put new veneer I chose natural ebony macassar.
if you remeber, on back 3800 is only black MDF plate with hole and wire, I changed it to banana terminal
and after 2 working days I had really nice box.
I put few layer of oil and beeswax, and meanwhile I prepareand grills. Old were broken, with dirt and holes.
and I decided to make completly new once
and now I have new look
Because BeO didn't care about the appearance under grill, I use felt to hide square midton in a round hole
and put BeO sticker on terminal
I done inside too. All speakers were checked in service and put it back with new sealing tape
and I changed capacitors in crossovers
Now my Beovox 3800 are ready to listen and watching
What an excellent job......I have a vouple of these speakers and I think they sound really good.

Thanks,
I'm very surprised by sound of 3800. On my tube amplifier sounds better than 5702.
Good job!
Thanks !
Because trumpets from 3800 went to my 5702, and because I still had ebony, and because pine shelves have always been in the garage and I never have time to hang up them, I made the stands to complete. They were standing on the floor and asking for it. Pictures do not reflect the whole effect but I will put a few photos to show them:
and session with speakers:
