Hello everyone!
I am finally thinking of replacing my TV with a B&O-ish system. Would love to get the new Eclipse but unfortunately, I am sure it will be outside my available budget, so I am thinking of going the way of a Stage + TV + floor stand.
The questions I have are the following: Between the LG CX and the LG GX, will the GX integrate better with the floor stand and provide a "cleaner" look and more sleek cable management to the CX? Note that I have an open plan living room so the back of the TV will be visible when in use. Otherwise the two TVs are exactly the same from what I gather, and I think I prefer the CX design, when not wall mounted.
Out of the available floor stands, I am torn between the "legit" B&O stand that I really like the look of, but sadly is not possible to rotate (not even manually) and Spectral’s Circle stand that has sort of an Eclipse feel to it and is possible to rotate manually. I intend to get the Stage in Oak and I am concerned that having aluminum + wood + the black TV would look sloppy and confused as opposed to the cleaner (and maybe more modern-looking) B&O stand. I also think that the rectangular base works better with the angles of the TV and Stage. Does anyone have experience with either of these stands? Is it relatively easy to rotate/move the B&O stand from time to time (I want to be able to rotate the screen to sit close to the wall when I have guests or when not in use).
I don't intend to integrate surround speakers anytime soon, so the benefit of the Eclipse would be minor, I think. Also, when comparing the specs of the Stage to the Eclipse (see below), it looks like the two systems have similar drivers, with the Eclipse having 100W for the 4'' bass instead of 50W for the same driver on the Stage. Does anyone have an experience comparing the two? I guess the Eclipse would overpower the Stage, but probably not by much for a normal-sized living room (mine is around 30sqm)?
Thanks everyone for your help and input, much appreciate it! :)

Hi,
I just compared eclipse and stage last week. For me the eclipse is much better.
Don’t forget the (apparently) impending launch of the BeoVision Contour?! - which sounds like an in between option of your two choices. There’s another thread on beoworld here.
Aussie Michael:Hi Harry, What a great post and an interesting conundrum. It appears that the LG + Stage + Stand option would be suited to you, as you say the benefits of the Eclipse would be negligible. What about going for one of the STB Bracket options? You could utilise an older style B&O stand, get rotation, albeit manual but would give you what you’re after. They even have newer ones. Check out their site. I personally like the B&O stand, even though it doesn’t have rotation. The GX will give you the cleaner look at the back than the CX. Going the Stage route will also mean the Stage operates as a music system too.

Hello Aussie Michael and thank you for your kind words and detailed feedback! Much appreciated :)
I looked up the options by STB Brackets, for some reason I thought they only had a solution to retrofit BV7 stands for the LG and Stage but they do make their own which seems very well built.
I think I will go towards the B&O stand as well, it looks light enough to rotate on occasion and I like the rectangular base better. I will also conside the GX due to the cleaner back as you say (have to see it in person as so far I've only seen the CX in person)

I wasn't aware of the BeoVision Contour(?). I thought we were only waiting for the Avant Mk2. WIll this be a replacement to the Horizon? I really liked the Horizon tbh, but at 48'' and without OLED I honestly could not justify the price tag... When is that expected to be launched?
Thanks for all the input guys, it was really helpful! I'm waiting till Black Friday to pull the tricker :)
I have the Stage (sitting in storage currently). The audio is really great for movies in a small room. Also, you need an ATMOS track to get the full benefits of Stage. It's quite amazing how much bass and how enveloping the audio can be from a single soundbar. Only reason I am not using it is because I have a Sony OLED and the clearance at the bottom is practically zero and I prefer watching TV when the screen is at eye level vs. looking up.
Personally, I find the B&O official stand for the Stage very elegant. If I had an LG TV, I'd consider it for sure along with a B&O remote 🙂
To the original poster. Between the GX and CX, the GX is designed to be a wall mounted display, the CX is for table. The image quality is exactly the same in both. If you are going to put it on a stand you won't benefit from the advantages of the GX - IMHO.
B&O in my life 😊:
Thanks for the response and feedback Jaffrey! My living room is 30+ sqm (around 350sqft?) but the TV area is on the one half of the space (with no wall in-between, hence the need for a stand), so I hope that the Stage will perform well. I also have an A9 in the same room (the other half) so I hope that together they will be great for parties ;)
I also like the B&O stand design-wise, it's more sleek and modern-looking IMO and suits the Stage and TV frame. If the TV could rotate that would have ticked all the boxes, but I get B&O's concern over breaking the TV screen if not careful.
The price difference between the CX and GX is around EUR 300, so I think I will try see them both (the rear mainly) and decide. So far my local AV stores only have the CX on display though...
