I have an IR eye connected to my BeoSound Essence MKII. Join works, volume also works both via my remotes (Beo4 and BeoLink 1000) and the volume buttons on the IR Eye.

The problem is with the source buttons.

What I would like:

Press CD: CD (NL source)
Press Tape: Tape (NL source)
Press PHONO: Phono (NL source)

All of the above sources come from my BeoSystem 5500 + Datalink ML converter + ML/NL Convert and work well if I select them from the app. However if I use the source buttons on my remote I get the following:

Press CD: Spotify starts
Press TAPE: Deezer starts
Press PHONO (Which is the same IR signal as N.RADIO I believe): TuneIn starts

How can I fix the coupling of the source buttons?

I once came across a FAQ on the B&O site that provided the Beo4 commands for multiroom linked sources. However, I haven't been able to find it again. Have you tried adding and using link source commands? For example, L-CD to see if it controls the CD on the BeoSystem 5500.

I’d bite the bullet and get a BROne.

The FAQ is probably this one:

MM-

It was a different FAQ that I saw. Also, I once just tried blindly trying different sources and found that it is possible to control linked multiroom sources. I just can't remember what they were.

Also I guess, it depends on the allocation of the sources in the converter.

Hi Beojeff, Yes I tried link-tape etc but that didn't work.

With my BeoRemote one I got exactly the same results…

This is my mapping. Looks fine, no? Although I thought this mapping is only relevant for what the IR eye that is connected directly to the converter does. Which works fine.

The question is how did you set the sources on the "IR mapping" page.

1. the settings of your BLC seems OK.

2. but the Essence has to proces the commands. And it uses the same sources (Cd. ATape....) as you set in the BLC.

3. Do a test: set N.Music in the BLC as CD of the BS5500? Or even more extreme, use V.Mem or DVD and see what happens.

Hi Carolpa. None of it seems to make a difference. Just to be sure, should the ML role be set to VMaster or Source Center?
