My 9000 works flawlessly via remote, problem is all the buttons have gone faulty. Press radio you get aux...press balance get volume etc. also the door button isn’t working.

Any ideas…

I've narrowed the fault down. As long as the ribbon cable to the control panel is disconnected the door button works as well as theCD buttons. Soon as I connect the cable back those buttons stop working and of course the control panel still doesn't work. I'm presuming it must be that small board that's faulty?

Hi BenSA,

I don't know but doesnt worth a try to open the control panel and give it a good clean before anything else.
I mean it may be a stuck key on the main panel (seen on BS2500 and alike and some remotes).

Thanks matador but you can't open the control panel. No screws. Also if the panel is out and I connect the ribbon cable the cd buttons..on off switch and door switch don't work. If I disconnect the cable the cd...on off and door switch work. I can only think its the pcb board

It happens, not often, that the small pcb for the keyboard fails. I've seen them with a small pimple on top on one of the ic's.

If you rotate your keyboard and your display doesn't turn, then you can be pretty sure that the pcb needs to be replaced (or new ic's soldered)

Thanks Beobuddy, at least I know now that it does happen that the board goes faulty.

Will source a replacement board. Hopefully solves the problem!
