Hello Beoworld,

I'm new to this so I hope I'm posting this question in the right place.  I've owned B&O since the 1970s.  I bought my Beosound 3200 new (ex display) from a B&O dealer in 2011.  It's not used daily and I've had no problems but yesterday suddenly stopped playing CDs.    When I press play, the CD starts revolving as normal, seems to get to speed and then stops.  I've tried various CDs but it's happening on all of them.  I have a local B&O dealer who can look at it but I wondered if this is a fault that might be something I can attend to?  Thanks for any advice you can offer.  William

Nothing you can do other than cleaning the cd's.

Sounds some trouble with your CD drive. That takes a lot of screwing around in the BS3200, aside from the fact that you don't have the replacement drive for it, if it needs to be replaced.

Thanks for this.  I don't think it's the CDs because they were clean and, in some cases, mint.  I managed to get it to play this morning but, after a couple of tracks, it ground to a halt.  It sounds like it is, as you say, something more serious than I can deal with. Thanks again.

Hi

Make sure to clean the CD laser also.

Thanks for this.  I've cleaned the laser - at least from the front (without dismantling anything).  I can get it to play but it now cut outs intermittently and then just stops ...

There are some replacements on ebay (I have nothing to do with sales)

Thanks OldJack and BeoBuddy.  I think you are right.  I'll see what my local B&O dealer says ... and what they'll charge to repair!  Best, W
